Welcome – Saturday evening at the Easter Vigil we welcomed into our Parish Community – Tracy Bull, Lorraine Cole, Malcolm Dugdale, Maritza Le Moray, Andrew & Sarah Martin, Brian Martin, Jonathan Moore, Victoria Sofeni, Liz Stewart and Shivonne Willcocks.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to those who have prepared these candidates – Lorraine Sayer and Brenda Neville and also to the sponsors and parish supporters. Once again a big thank you to all. On Saturday, 2 February, the St. Joseph Parish Pastoral Council, School Board, and Finance Committee met at St. Peter Chanel Centre for a day of prayer and discussion to consider a ten-year vision for the Parish.
Entitled, "Show Us the Way - a Day to Dream," and building off an event the parish held a few years ago, parish goals were identified, prioritized, and "action lists" made. Goals that emerged, included:

Today is Mission Sunday. It is a day to celebrate and thank God for being a part of his mission. May we continue to witness our faith in a God who is present and working in various ways in our world today. Please help support the 1,250 Mission Dioceses in the world. The special Mission Collection today is our donation to help in the faith education programs for the developing countries especially in the development of catechetical ministry. It is also used for maintaining mission schools, building chapels, presbyteries and convents. It is also help in feeding children who are most vulnerable in the developing world. Anne Bowls The Church's Solitary Goal is the topic for the Knights of the Southern Cross 2012 religious writing competition. The Church, inspired by no earthly ambition, seeks bout a solitary goal: to carry forward the work of Christ under the lead of the befriending Spirit. And Christ entered the world to give witness to the truth, to rescue and not to sit in judgement, to serve and not to be served.

The Festival of Faith Come and be part of the Festival of Faith starting on 24 June and running to 8 July 2012.
